At 7:49, April 14, 2010, the 7.1-magnitude earthquake happened in Yushu county, Qinhai province, resulting in heavy casualties and property damage. At 15:25, April 19, the number of victims has risen to 1706. 256 people were missing. 12128 people were injured and 1424 people got seriously hurt.
After the earthquake, the CPC Central Committee General Secretary and Chairman Hu Jingtao, the premier Wen Jiabao respectively made important instruction. Go all out in the earthquake relief work. Make every means to rescue the victims. And go to disaster area in person to visit people in disaster-afflicted areas, direct and supervise the relief work.
